Welcome to the official website of the Federation of Our Lady of the Angels. We are a federation of five Capuchin Poor Clare monasteries in the United States. Our five monasteries are located in Amarillo, Texas; Wilmington, Delaware; Denver, Colorado; Pueblo, Colorado; and Alamo, Texas.

Please visit the different pages of our website to learn more about our life and spirituality. There you will find detailed information about each of our monasteries as well as instructions on how to contact us and send us your prayer intentions.

If you have some interest in becoming a Capuchin Poor Clare or would like more information, please visit our vocation section.

As Capuchin Poor Clares we are called, with all the people of God, to the fullness of the Christian life and so we consecrate ourselves totally to God who is supremely loved. The summation of our life is: "To observe the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, living in obedience, without anything of our own and in chastity" (Rule of St. Clare). Our Mother Clare expresses this form of life beautifully in a letter to St. Agnes of Prague:

What a great and laudable exchange:
to leave the things of time for those of eternity,
to choose the things of heaven for the goods of earth,
to receive the hundred-fold in place of one,
and to possess a blessed and eternal life.

As Capuchin Poor Clares we have been called, in virtue of our vocation, to a total abandonment to God in solitude and in silence. Through fervent prayer and generous penance we dedicate our life to God in a special way. Like St. Clare, our prayer is a never-ending fascination with the person of Jesus:

Place your mind in the mirror of eternity;
Place your soul in the splendor of glory;
Place your heart in the figure of the divine substance;
And, through contemplation, transform your entire being
Into the image of the Divine One Himself,
So that you, yourself, may also experience what his friends experience
When they taste the hidden sweetness
That God alone has kept from the beginning
For those who love Him.

Thank you for visiting our website. Be sure to check back often as these pages are updated from time to time. We leave your with the blessing of St. Clare:

I Clare, a servant of Christ, a little plant of our most Holy Father Francis,
a sister and mother of you and the other poor sisters,
give you and confirm for you this most holy blessing in heaven and on earth.
I bless you during my life and after my death, as I am able,
out of all the blessings with which the Father of mercies has
and does bless His sons and daughters in heaven and on earth and a
spiritual father and mother have blessed and bless their spiritual sons and
daughters. Amen.

Always be lovers of your souls and those of all your sisters.
And may you always be eager to observe what you have promised the Lord.
May the Lord always be with you and may you always be with Him.
Amen.
